Our first international coding bootcamp wrapped up in Nairobi, Kenya with 60 students earning Python certification and presenting their final projects to a panel of local tech industry judges.
The six-week intensive program was held at a partner school in the Kibera district and taught by four Wheelhouse-trained local instructors. Students built projects including a school attendance tracking app, a Swahili language learning game, and a community water-quality monitoring dashboard.
"The quality of work these students produced in six weeks was extraordinary," said lead instructor David Waweru. "These are not just coders — they're problem solvers."
